1,3-Propanediol

This product is a sodium-free amino buffer base, which combines with H2CO3 in body fluids to form bicarbonate. Therefore, it can buffer acid and reduce CO2 tension, and has dual effects of correcting acute respiratory acidosis and metabolic acidosis, and its effect is faster and stronger than that of sodium bicarbonate. Clinically used for acute metabolic and acute respiratory acidosis. Generally, 3.64% solution is used for infusion, and those with limited water can directly infuse 7.28% solution intravenously, but excessive dosage and too fast drip speed should be avoided. It should be used with caution in patients with renal insufficiency, and should not be used in patients with anuria.
